CST Consultants Inc. I.T. Dept.:This summer I had the pleasure of putting on a Team-Building Workshop for the CST I.T. group. Each person recreated a section of Franklin Carmichael's watercolour "Mirror Lake, 1929" using japanese papers and glue sticks. The workshop was held outdoors in the Manager's backyard, making for a fun and relaxing day for all.
Western University Human Resources Dept.:Above is a mosaic project created by the Human Resources Dept. at Western University for a team-building workshop. Fifty adults contributed to this artwork using only Japanese papers and a gluestick! The finished product depicts a Northern Ontario scene of Agawa pictographs, ignukshuks and birch trees. The participants wrote down accomplishments they achieved throughout the year along the trunks of the trees. Final image size: 64"w x 48”h
Ontario Govt. Consumer Services Dept :Here is another example of a Team-Building creative workshop with Ontario Govt. employees, who recreated Emily Carr's totem pole paintings using collage. It was challenging working with non-artists, but they all had a great time using the right side of the brain for the day, and gained a new appreciation for art. Many participants were inspired by what they had created, and were pleased to discover that they have a creative side!
